Gaa, Dorothy 1942 - 2017 Dorothy Gaa, age 75,of Plain City,passed away unexpectedly Monday morning,October 16, 2017 at Doctors West Hospital. She was born September 2, 1942 at home in Madison County. Dorothy retired from Select Sires after 41 years of service where she worked as a Secretary. She loved Christmas and kept her home decorated year around. Dorothy loved to shop, but mostly she enjoyed her family and doting over her nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and great great nephews. Preceded in death by her parents William H. and E. (Arnold) Wilson, sister Ruth Lowry Hostler, brothers George W. Wilson, James W. Wilson, sisters-in-law Martha Wilson, Betty Wilson, Ruth Ann Wilson, brothers-in-law Robert "Bob" Shriver, Kenneth "Ted" Hostler, Clarence "Bill" Lowry, Jack Jahn, John Kesler, Kenneth Edwards. Survived by sisters, Mary Jane Edwards, Thelma Kesler, Alice Jahn, Janet Shriver; brothers, John (Barb) Wilson, David Wilson. The family will receive friends 5-8 PM Wednesday at the Ferguson Funeral Home, 202 E. Graves, Carolyn Carolyn J. Brigner Graves, 83, of London, died Sunday, October 15, 2017 in the Kobacker House, Columbus. Born July 4, 1934 in Columbus, Ohio; she was a daughter of the late William Timothy and Edna Beatrice (Hughes) Rollins. Carolyn retired from Nationwide Insurance in 1994, was a member of the London Church of the Nazarene and had belonged to the Madison County Senior Center. Survivors include her children, Jeffrey A. (Cathy) Brigner, Brad W. (Margaret) Brigner, Brian (Dawn) Brigner and Jean Ann (Danny) Williams; 11 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband George Brigner, second husband Wilson "Pete" Graves and sister Marilyn (John) Waibel. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at the London Church of the Nazarene, 224 lm St., London, Ohio with Pastor Jack Davis officiating. Friends may call at the church from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Franklin Hills Memorial Park, Lithopolis. Grote, Jean Jean M. Grote, age 54, passed away Friday October 13, 2017 after a lengthy illness with ALS. Preceded in death by father Joseph Grote. Survived by loving boyfriend and caregiver, Jon Edinger; mother and step-father, Annette Grote and Ken Macklin; brother, Brian (Deb) Grote; step-brother and step-sisters, Deb (Dave) Osbun, Pat (Deb) Macklin, Kelly (Ralph) Harvey; many nieces, nephews, step-nieces and step-nephews; cousin, Deborah Bonarrigo Gray; and numerous loving friends. Galentine, Mary Mary C. Galentine, 91, passed away Sunday, October 10, 2017 at home. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother. She is at peace with the Lord watching over all of us. Preceded in death by parents Delbert and Mary Agnes Simmers, husband Francis, son Daniel (wife Victoria), brothers Richard, Delbert, William Simmers, sister Betty Wells. Survived by son, Frank (wife, Mary); grandchildren, Angela (Kenny), Ryan (Ivy), Kasey and Peter; 3 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. A gathering of family and friends to celebrate her life will take place on Monday, October 16, 1017 at 11 am at Lower Lights Nazarene Church, 1066 Bellows Ave., where she was member for over 70 years teaching Sunday school and playing the piano for worship services. Pastor Chuck Wilson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to hospice of Mt. Carmel Hospital. Interment at a later date at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Griffin, Richard Richard Lawrence Griffin, age 88, of Blacklick, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2017. He was born March 17, 1929 in Detroit, MI. He is survived by his loving wife, Geneva Ross Griffin; sons, LeRoy (Denise) of Grove City, August (Debra) and George (Angela), both of Paris, IL; daughter, Paula Darr of Phoenix, AZ; step-daughter, Sondra Riebel of Blacklick, OH; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, LeRoy and Olive Griffin; and brother, Frank Griffin. Former operations manager of Gardner Asphalt Corp. of Tampa, FL. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Era; an Eagle Scout; member of the Order of the Arrow and American Legion and 40 and 8. Cremation will be observed with no public services. Gillig, George 1916 - 2017 George A. Gillig, age 101, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Kobacker House. He was born September 26, 1916 in Tiffin, OH. He is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Elizabeth L. "Beth" Gillig, parents Charles P. Gillig and Olive L. (Houck) Gillig, sister Marie Schwartzmiller and brother-in-law Fred Schwartzmilller, brother Robert Gillig and sister-in-law Helen Rose (Smith) Gillig, sister Clara (Welter) Gillig and brother-in-law William N. Welter, nephews Richard C. and William J. Welter, all of Tiffin, Ohio, nephew Charles Gillig, niece Marilyn Frey, father-in-law William E. Music and mother-in-law Mildred (Endicott) Music, brother and sister-in-law Paul and Christeen Music of Mansfield, brother and sister-in-law of Greely, CO, Delbert and Pauline Music, brother and sister-in-law Charles Shambaugh DDS and Mary Shambaugh of Belleville, OH, brother-in-law Richard Frey of Tiffin, brother-in-law and sister-in-law James Music and Edna Music of Galion. Survived by sister, Alice Frey; 22 nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews. Graduate of Tiffin Calvert High school, attended John Carroll University and then received his designation from the Society of Financial Service Professionals. Member of Knights of Columbus Our Lady of Victory Council 12900 as a 4th Degree of Bishop Edward Hermann Assembly 2727. Member of Serra Club of Columbus, Saint Vincent DePaul Society, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars. World War II Veteran who served as a Sergeant in the Aviation Engineers in the Pacific Theater and was awarded a battle star for the Okinawa campaign. In 1979 and again in 1982 was the National sales leader for the Company he represented as a provider of Financial Services. His family will receive friends on Saturday, October 14, 2017 from 9 a.m., until time of his funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 1559 Roxbury Road, Marble Cliff. Rev. Msgr. Romano Ciotola, Presider. Entombment to follow, Resurrection Cemetery Chapel Mausoleum, 9571 N. High St., Lewis Center.
