Jeffers, Thomas  
Jeffers, Thomas 1940 - 2017 Thomas Neil Jeffers, age 77, passed away on Friday August 11, 2017. He was born January 14, 1940 in Columbus, Ohio to Jean Hite and Harole Jeffers. Tom loved his Buckeyes, his soul music, and his soul food. Always a jokester who didn't know a stranger, Tom lived his life with a smile on his face and a guitar in his hand. Tom was preceded in death by his parents Jean Hite and Harole Jeffers, sister Carol Wickham, and brother Harole Jeffers. Survived by his brother, Robert Jeffers; many dear friends, and all of his Viaquest and Goodwill families. A memorial service will be held 6 p.m. Friday, August 18, 2017 at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High, Worthington, OH 43085.

Jenkins, Doris  
Jenkins, Doris Doris Jean Jenkins, 81, of Ashville, passed away Sunday, August 13, 2017 at Circleville Care and Rehabilition. She was born November 3, 1935 in Columbus to the late Ralph and Bernice (DeVors) Morrison. Doris was a 1953 graduate of Ashville High School and retired from Grange Mutual Insurance. Preceded in death by her husband James Jenkins in 1982; her parents and step father William "Tick" Pettibone, brother Robert Morrison, sister Dixie Bartholomew. Survived by sons, James (Christy) Jenkins and Jeff (Jeanne) Jenkins; daughters, Joni (Marc) Williamson and Julie (Tim)Noble; grandchildren, Jason Jenkins, Jon (Kim) Jenkins, Ben Noble (Jess), Adam Noble (Kate), Sara (Buck) Jacobs, and Jaimee Jenkins; great grandchildren, Falon, JT, and Savanah; brother-in-law, Bob Bartholomew; friend, Deborah Jenkins; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Service 11 a.m. Thursday, August 17, 2017 at the OLIVER-CHEEK FUNERAL HOME, 420 W. Main St., Ashville with Chaplain Dean Queen officiating. Interment will follow in Harrsion Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Johnson , Ethel 1950 - 2017 Ethel Mae Johnson, age 66, of Columbus, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 3, 2017, at OSU East Hospital with her loving family by her side. Ethel Mae was born September 13, 1950 to the late Hulon and Estella Mae (Vaughn) McElheney in Monticello, GA. She was a member of the Calvary Treemount Baptist Church since 2012. Ethel Mae is survived by her children, Bill Johnson, Jordin Johnson; grandchildren, Markise Johnson, Trebien Johnson, Tyler Joiner, Damion Michael Kessler, Isbella Sandler; sister, Estella (Robert Smallwood) McElheney; nephew, Shawn (Michelle) McElheney; great-nephew, Kishon McElheney; aunt, Lillian Robinson; brother-in-law, James Johnson Jr.; cousins, Tannis Vaughn, Jonathan Robinson, Jesse Robinson, Michael Robinson, Tammy Vaughn, Hope Reeves, Valerie Poindexter; dear friend, Lee Moyer; and a host of family and friends. She is preceded in death by her grandmother Ethel Hogan, grandfather Tannis Vaughn. A celebration of life will be held on SATURDAY, August 12, 2017, 11 a.m., at the Rehoboth Temple Church, 1111 E. Johnson (Head), Karen 1957 - 2017 Karen Cherita Head Johnson (aka "Chocolate"), age 59, born September 4, 1957 in Columbus, OH, departed this life Thursday, August 10, 2017. Karen graduated from East High School and earned her Associate Degree in Social Work from Columbus State Community College. She retired from State Auto Insurance after 36 years of service and was a faithful member of the Christ Memorial Baptist Church where she served in many capacities. Predeceased by parents Richard Head and Catherine Head, brother Mark Head, father-in-law Gene Whitaker, and mother-in-law Joyce Johnson. Those left to cherish her precious memory include her husband, Donald Johnson; daughters, Aisha (David) Hodo, Brandy (Dale Sr.) Chatman, and Mary (Johnny Jr.) Culver; stepsons, Daryl Hartzog, Donald Spencer, and Von (Jennifer) Chandler; sisters, Karen (Abraham) Loume and Tonya Shank; brother Thaddeus Head; grandchildren, Tavion Chatman, Jaseiah Edwards, James Brown, III, Symphony Chatman, Dale Chatman, Jr., and David Hodo, II; and a host of other relatives and friends. Celebration of Life 12 noon Friday, August 18, 2017 at Christ Memorial Missionary Baptist Church, 3330 E. Jones, Richard  
Jones, Richard Beloved husband, father and uncle, Richard C. Jones, age 89, resident of Sun City West, AZ since 1960, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 from Hospice in the Valley in Surprise, AZ. Richard was born and raised in Columbus, 0hio where he attended West High School. He was a veteran of the US Navy, and served in WWII. He was a member of the VFW. He was a retired electrician and member of IBEW Local #640 In the Phoenix area of Arizona. He also worked in the states Ohio and California. Preceded in death by his daughter Vicki Jones, parents Guy and Victoria Jones, sister Elnora and her husband Clarence Nicholson, infant brother William and brother Charles Jones, brother-in-law Bill Henery, sister-in-law June Baird. Survived by loving wife of 69 years, Louise; and son, Craig; sisters-in-law, Faye Collins and Martha Jones; numerous nieces and nephews, other family and friends.
