Odom Johnny Prentice Odom, age 71, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2015. Retired from Borden Inc. US Air Force Veteran. Preceded in death by parents Albert and Kate Odom, father and mother-in-law Dan and Mary Jane Canter. Survived by wife of 49 years, Jane; son, Trace; brothers-in-law, Clayton (Debbie) Canter and Dana (Debbie) Canter; sister, Carol Scott. Visitation will be Thursday, April 30, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. at the O. R. WOODYARD CO. CHAPEL, 1346 S. High Street, where the funeral service will be Friday 1 p.m. Pastor Ruth Solo officiating. Interment Fernwood Cemetery.

Otey, Dr. Rheba Washington  
Otey Dr. Rheba Washington Otey, age 94, went home to the Lord, Friday, March 13, 2015 at Wexner Heritage Village after a lengthy illness. Born September 26, 1920 in Greene County, OH, she entered into marriage to Robert Otey in 1948. Rheba received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Wilberforce University in 1942; she later received her Masters and PhD degrees in Library Science from the Ohio State University. She has served as a librarian for Columbus City Schools (Monroe Jr. High and Medina Middle Schools). Her civic and community endeavors include contributing writer, Columbus Call and Post newspaper; Columbus Urban League Guild; Jack & Jill of America; Junior Leaguers Social Club; as well as being a founder and president of Columbus Chapter of Chums, Inc. She was a faithful member of St. Joseph Cathedral, St. Cyprians and St. Dominic's Catholic Churches. She was predeceased by her husband Robert Otey, and leaves to cherish her memory her son, James Edward Otey. Funeral service 10 a.m. Thursday, April 30, 2015 in the chapel of DIEHL-WHITTAKER FUNERAL SERVICE, 720 E. Parsell, Michael Alan  
Parsell Michael Alan Parsell, 20, of Carroll, passed away Friday, April 24, 2015. He was born on July 1, 1994 in Columbus the only son of Rod and Michelle Parsell. He attended Fairfield Christian Church, was a 2013 graduate of Bloom Carroll High School where he played football and ran track. Michael was an avid Cincinnati Bengals and Ohio State fan. He also enjoyed spending time at home with his family, beloved girlfriend and good friends. He is survived by his parents, Rod and Michelle Parsell; sisters, Sarah and Kathryn Parsell; paternal grandparents, Pat and Linda Parsell; maternal grandparents, Charles and Karen Massie and Norma and Bill McCoy; girlfriend, Brooke Huhn; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends may call Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. in the Fairfield Christian Church. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Church with Pastor Trevor Littleton officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Rose Cemetery. The family is being served by the HALTEMAN-FETT DYER FUNERAL HOME. Ray, Stanley C.  
Ray Stanley C. Ray, born May 22, 1923, to Fornie P. and Jessie N. (Hysell) Ray, died on April 24, 2015. He was known as "Sam" by friends and family, a nickname he picked up during the depression when he was called "Salesman Sam" because he earned money selling newspapers and used magazines around his neighborhood. Sam was preceded in death by two brothers, Melvin (Ted) Ray and Ronald Ray and one sister, Esther McGinnis. He is survived by one sister, Shirley Rawlins, who lives in Grove City with her husband Jerry. After graduating from Grove City High School, Sam followed in his father's footsteps to work at the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad where he retired as a shop foreman in 1985. During World War II, he served in the 733rd Railway Operating Battalion to help maintain the supply lines in the European Theater. When he returned from the war, he married Janice Breckenridge, and together they had two children, David Ray, who lives in Grove City with his wife Linda and Susan Campbell who resides in Roseville, CA, with her husband Phillip. He lost Janice too early in 1978 but was fortunate enough to marry another wonderful wife in Deanna (Fritz) Dunn. Deanna had one daughter from her previous marriage, Carla Cottrell, who lives in Grove City with her husband Gary. Unfortunately, he also lost Deanna in 2008. In addition to his children and sister, Sam is survived by 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. He will also be missed by his special friend, Pam McKnight. Sam enjoyed bowling, golfing, and betting on the ponies at Beulah Park, but his greatest satisfaction seemed to come from helping others. Reaves, Alan  
Reaves Alan Reaves, age 65, of Dublin, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, April 19, 2015 after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer. Alan was a graduate of Central High School of Philadelphia, PA, where he was born and raised. He was the proud founder and owner of Commi$$ioner Software, Ltd. of Dublin. Alan was preceded in death by his mother Vivienne, and his brother Joseph Reaves. He is survived by his wife, Carol A. Cimiluca of Dublin; his father, James; his children, Alan Jr., Alissa, Allyson, and Jillian; his grandchildren, Leah, Allyson, Summer and Kamari; sister-in-law, Peggy, nieces, Sydney and Olivia; nephew, David (Shaun); mother-in-law, Jay; his many extended family members and his many loving friends. Robertson, Mary Ann  
Robertson (Lingo) Mary Ann Robertson, age 96, passed away Friday, April 24, 2015 at her daughter's home, surrounded by her family. She is preceded in death by her sister Grace Ellen Lutz and brother George "Bud" Lingo. Mary Ann is survived by her sisters, Jean Frost, Ruth Youngquist; brother, William (Pauline) Lingo; children, Sue Grady, Fred (Mary) Robertson; grandchildren, Cyndi (Jack) Rusher, Bill (Shirley Kurtz) Bolton, Kristina Robertson and Scott Robertson; five great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and many extended family members. Mary Ann was a secretary in the Cleveland court system and retired at the age of 79. She volunteered for many years at the Board of Elections. She was an avid golfer and a longtime member of Pine Ridge Country Club. Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m., Monday, April 27, 2015 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd., Columbus, OH 43221. Rose James E. Rose, passed away on Friday evening, April 24, 2015 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was born January 29, 1928 to the late Eldon and Ora (Hamilton) Rose in Greasy Ridge, Ohio in Lawrence County. Jim graduated in 1945 from Waterloo High School. After numerous years of dedicated service, Jim retired from Dealer's Lumber. He is survived by loving wife of 64 years, Vera Ernestine (Justice) Rose; children, Tom (Rhonda) Rose and Vicki (Joe) McGuire; grandchildren, Loretta, Marlene, Elizabeth and Nathan; four great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Bob Justice; sister-in-law, Wanda Dennison; special niece, Sarah J. Rose; and many nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings Edward, Ruth and Mary, and granddaughter Mary. Rosmarin Thomas Paul Rosmarin, age 91, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away Friday, April 24, 2015. Preceded in death by parents Carl and Lorine Rosmarin, brothers Edward, Donald and Herbert Rosmarin. Survived by loving wife of 59 1/2 years, Margaret Rosmarin; sons, Patrick (Kim) and James (Kathy) Rosmarin of Columbus; daughter, Theresa Rosmarin, Orlando; grandchildren, Brenda, Michelle (Jim), David, Nathan, Jane, Kelly & Lucy; great-grandson, Grant Thomas; many nieces and nephews. Combat veteran of WWII, serving in the US Army Air Corps; flew 43 combat missions in B-25's. Graduate of Miami University and was a retired architect. Active member of Our Lady of Peace Church, leisure member of Catholic War Veterans and the Veterans Group at Gillie Recreation Center. Member of 57th Bomb Wing Alumni Association, he loved to go to schools to talk about World War II. Schackne Marion Chalif Schackne. Family and friends have lost a dear person today, Marion Chalif Schackne, Little Grandma, Little G. Sunrise October 18, 1923, sunset April 21, 2015. Born in Altoona, Pennsylvania. The Detwiler family moved to Columbus, Ohio in 1926, where Marion became a graduate of the 1942 class of Grandview Heights. She was an accomplished ballet dancer from the Detwiler Dance Company and a lifelong member of The First Community Church. Marion retired from Highlights for Children Magazine. Marion is preceded in death by her parents William Raymond Detwiler and Roselie Marie (Yoder) Detwiler, David Schackne Jr., and her son Logan Ward Schackne. She is survived by her daughter and caregiver, Kelly Schackne; her granddaughters, Trisha Lee (James) Hale, Tracy Marie (Robert Parks) Johnson; and her nieces and nephews, Brenda Jo Wilhite, Leslie Ann (Richard) Malik, Erika Lynn Wilhite, Trent Allen (Lori) Wilhite and Lynn Allen Wilhite.
