Townley, Freda  
Townley, Freda 1930 - 2017 Freda A. (Coontz) Townley, age 86, of Westerville, passed away at home on October 19, 2017. Born November 6, 1930 in Worthington, OH to Frank Cleveland and Matha Ellen Coontz. Freda was a 1948 graduate of Westerville High School where she excelled in typing and shorthand. She was employed by Kilgore Manufacturing in Westerville, Arrow Hart Corporation and retired from General Accident Insurance Company. Freda was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Edward Townley, sons, Kenneth and Richard, brother, William Coontz, sisters, Ruth Townsend Fisher and Helen Wickline. Survived by sons, Michael (Linda) of Westerville, Gary (Mary) of Sunbury and Ronald of Westerville; sister, Dorothy Townley of Westerville; daughters-in-law, Beth Mulpas and Beth Townley; grandchildren, Jennifer, Ryan (Amber), Jason, Rachel (Josh), Bradley (Samantha), Bryan, Chad and Brandon; great-grandchildren, Courteney, Hannah, Will, Tyler, Austin, Reese, Larkin, Ethan and Joseph; dear friend, Stella Townsend; several nieces and nephews. Freda enjoyed traveling, camping, playing cards, bowling and being with family. As a devoted and loving mother, Freda, along with her husband, Ed, raised their 5 sons in their Westerville home of 56 years. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren's football, baseball and soccer games, dance recitals, band concerts, birthday parties, graduations, holidays and other special family occasions. Friends and family may call at the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 55 E. Schrock Road, Westerville, Wednesday 6-8 p.m. where service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m., Rev. David M. Redding, officiating. Interment Sunbury Memorial Park. A special thank you to Visiting Angels for the love and care they've given over the past years. Townsend, Robert Robert H. Townsend Sr., age 90, Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Mt. Carmel Medical Center. World War II U.S.Army Veteran. Member of U.C.T. # 3 and V.F.W. Post # 3283. Retired from James River Papers after 25 years. Survived by loving wife of 73 years, Joan; daughters, Bobbie (Ken) LeMay and Deborah Lyon; sons, Robert Jr. (Christy) Townsend, Greg (Kim) Townsend, Terry (Diana) Townsend; 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; numerous nieces and nephews. Wiggins, Jr., Patrick John 1961 - 2017 Patrick John Wiggins, Jr., age 56, of Hilliard, OH went to Heaven on Friday, October 20, 2017 after a brief battle with cancer. Witham, Charlyne  
Witham, Charlyne Charlyne (Jones) Witham, passed away Oct. 17, 2017. She was born Aug. 13, 1925 to Maude and Bert Jones in Austin, Ohio. Originally from Dayton, OH, she resided in Columbus for most of her life. After schooling, she was employed by the National Cash Register Company where she met and married George H. Witham. George preceded her in death on Jul. 2, 1998. Charlyne is survived by daughter, Valerie (Joseph) Praither; sister, Myrna Byrd; sisters-in-law, Janet Sugden and Lois Witham Bauer; grandchildren, Scott (Barbara) Kern, Timothy (Holly) Kern, and Kellie Kern; seven great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sisters Betty Younce and Phyllis Prewitt. Charlyne led a full and busy life. She was Past Pres. of the Administrative Management Soc., Past Pres. of the Columbus Dental Assistants Soc., Officer of the National Secretaries Soc., Credit Women of Columbus, 591st Engineers Auxiliary to name just a few. She was the Corp Sec. & Office Manager for oral surgeons in Columbus for more than 35 years. During which time she and George started the first dental clinic on the Island of Exuma in the Bahamas. She will always be "My Char". Memorial Service to be held at Rutherford-Corbin Funeral Home, 515 High St., Worthington, OH on Sun., Oct. 29 at 2 PM. Cremains to be buried at sea in the Bahamas. Zinn, Linda  
Zinn, Linda 1953 - 2017 Linda Irene Zinn, 64, passed away Friday, October 20, 2017 with her family by her side. She was born August 9, 1953 in McArthur, Ohio to the late Phillip and Alice (Wolter) Pinney. She was a 1971 graduate of Vinton County Consolidated H.S. and later graduated from Hocking College School of Nursing. She worked as a R.N. for Monterey Care Center for 22 years and then became the Director of Nursing at Columbus West Park and served there for 18 years. Linda loved cheering on her Buckeyes and her favorite NFL quarterbacks, Brett Favre and Peyton Manning. She enjoyed going on family vacations to Myrtle Beach and decorating for the holidays. Linda is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, James "Mike" Zinn; children, James "Derek" (Mandy) Zinn, and Michael "Brandon" (Allison) Zinn, and Ashley Zinn; grandchildren, Logan, Demree, Payton, Denten, Eden and Jocelyn; sisters, Dianne (Butch) Alford and Karla (Jim) Mace; brother, Bill (Diana) Pinney; and many dear friends. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at the Schoedinger Grove City Chapel, 3920 Broadway, Grove City where funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday. Graveside committal will follow 12:30 p.m. at Keeton Cemetery, McArthur, Ohio. Contributions in Linda's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society. He had been Project Administrator with RMF engineering, worked for Ohio Dept. of Natural Resources for 31 years, lifetime Boy Scout, currently active with Troop 102, London and was a Silver Beaver recipient. Survived by wife of 25 years, Donna (Vantrease) Albrecht; son, William Albrecht; step son, Shawn Igle; brother, David (Jane) Albrecht; and several nieces and nephews. Preceded by parents. Carawan, Judith Judith Carawan, 85, of Columbus, died Thursday, October 19, 2017 in First Community Village. Born June 3, 1932 in London; she was the daughter of Edgar and Mable (Myers) Hill. Judith retired from Bank One and Chase Bank in Columbus. Survivors include her sons, William (Marylyn) Carawan of KY and Benega Greene (Candace) Carawan of Galloway; grandchildren, Deloris Cantrell, William Carawan, Jr, Tamara Hay, Bobbie McCleery, Christian Carawan, Tabitha Carpenter and Troy Carpenter; 14 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; brother, George (Linda) Hill; nine nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Crune Carawan in 2010. Friends may call at the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 N. Main St, London from 5-8 PM Monday. Cheaney, Edgar  
Cheaney, Edgar 1922 - 2017 Edgar S. Cheaney, 95, of Granville, died October 17, 2017. He was born on April 24, 1922 to James W. and Margaret (Power) Cheaney in Petersburg, Illinois. He served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean Emergency. He graduated from the University of Illinois in 1944 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. After working at Allis Chalmers in Springfield, Illinois, for several years, he began his career at Battelle Memorial Institute in Columbus, Ohio in 1957, primarily working in transportation engineering. Ed married Terrie (Harriett) Mueller in 1944 and they joyfully celebrated their 73rd anniversary together this past August. Ed was a loving father to Sally (Alger), Paula (Bowers), Phebe (Engel) and David, and grandfather to Hannah Levin, Sarah Gabel, Jordan Quickel, Maggie Fryer, Clara Eckel and Grace Engel. He has three dear great-granddaughters, Cheaney, Tenley and Piper Gabel. A memorial gathering will be held at Kendal at Granville, 2158 Columbus Rd. SW, Granville, Ohio on Thursday October 26 at 10:30 am, in the Amelia Room. Dashkovskaya, Mara  
Dashkovskaya, Mara 1929 - 2017 Mara Dashkovsksya, died October 20, 2017 at the age of 88. She was born in Vinnitza, Ukraine on May 29, 1929 to Esther and Moishe Shterberg. During WWII she was evacuated to Kazakhstan with her mother and sister escaping horrors of Nazi occupation. Maya immigrated to the USA in 1993 and volunteered at Columbus Public Schools for 20 years. She presided in her death by her husbands Meier Dashkovsky and Leib Kuperman. She is survived by her two sons, Edward (Dina) Dashkovsky and Michael (Natalia) Dashkovsky; grandchildren, Miron (Ekaterina) Dashkovsky, Alexander(Ksenia) Dashkovsky and Sonia Dashkovskyl and great-grandchildren, Mark Dashkovsky and Emma Dashkovsky.
