Ahrendt, Rev. Wilfred 1921 - 2018 Rev. Wilfred W. Ahrendt, age 96, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2018, at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Rev. Ahrendt graduated from Texas Lutheran College and Trinity Lutheran Seminary of Bexley, Ohio, where he was ordained. He was a chaplain with Lutheran Social Services in Maryland and Ohio and was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Bexley. He also served as a chaplain in the U. S. Army, retiring with the rank of lieutenant colonel. He is preceded in death by his parents Otto and Caroline Ahrendt, son Karl, brothers Richard and Leonard and sister Geraldine Wood. He is survived his children, Christina (Paul) Woodrow, Theodore (Margaret), David (Beth) and Andrew (Susan); daughter-in-law, Priscilla; 14 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Frances Hawkins, Marilyn Ridley and Carolyn Webb. Akers, Virginia 1925 - 2018 Virginia Akers, 92, passed away on February 11, 2018. She was born on November 5, 1925. She was retired from the Ohio Department of Education. She was preceded in death by her husband Harvey Akers, parents Asa LeMay and Edna Giffin and son-in-law Dan Harris. Surviving family includes children, Sherri (Daniel) Lantz, Linda Harris; grandchildren, Hunter Akers and Danny Harris. Visitation will be held from 10am-12pm, Friday, February 16, 2018 at Newcomer Funeral Home and Crematory, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH, where a funeral service will begin at 12pm. Allen, Shirley Anne  
Allen, Shirley Anne 1940 - 2018 Shirley Anne Allen, age 77, of Plain City, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Born November 8, 1940 in Byhalia, Ohio to the late Elmer R. and Florine (Johnson) Berry. Shirley was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of OVMA and American Belgian Horse Association. She served as the secretary of the Eastern States Draft Horse Sales. Shirley was a past member of the Plain City Garden Club. She was an owner and partner with her husband of the Pleasant Valley Veterinary Hospital and Allen Time Farms, LLC. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Doc. Allen, whom she married on June 16, 1967; two sons, Jon Allen, Brian (Kimberly) Allen; grandchildren, Jacob Ames Allen, Joseph Randall Allen, Eveline Anne Allen, Wilson Fortner Allen; sister, Rose (Richard) Haines, brother, Robert Berry. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister-in-law Maggie Berry. A gathering is being held from 2-4 PM Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Ferguson Funeral Home, 202 E. Antonios, Irene  
Antonios, Irene 1922 - 2018 Irene C. Antonios, age 95, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2018. Irene was born in Zanesville, Ohio on July 17, 1922 to the late John and Thekla Chacharonis. Preceded in death by her beloved husband Anthony in 1964; sister Mary (Kenneth) Wolfe; brother, Peter Chacha­ronis and best friend, Theo Kontras. Cherished mother of Anna (Richard) Warren and Thekla (Theodore) Pappas. Dearest Yiayia of Irene (Ben) Rudnick, Nicole Pappas, Toni (Pat) Anderson and Matthew Warren. She was also an aunt, great-aunt and good friend to many. Throughout her 95 years Irene exemplified what it means to live a life dedicated to others. Every day of her long and rich life was filled with hard work, all for the better­ment of her family and friends, whether managing her family's candy business, caring for her grandchildren and aging parents, or helping a friend in need. Irene had an unwaver­ing faith in God. As a devout member of The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, she served as Sunday School Superintendent and teacher, Philoptochos member and GOYA advisor. Visitation will be Thursday, February 15 from 4-7pm (Trisagion Service at 6pm) at The O.R. WOODYARD NORTH­WEST CHAPEL, 2990 Bethel Rd., Columbus, Ohio 43220. Funeral services will be Friday, February 16 at 11am at the Annunciation Greek Or­thodox Cathedral, 555 N. High St., Columbus Ohio 43215. Irene's family wishes to thank all of those who helped care for her during the final year of her life. Barrow, Jr., Harry W. 1928 - 2018 Harry Willima Barrow Jr., 89. Born on June 15, 1928. Went to heaven on February 10, 2018. He is preceded in death by his wife of 66 1/2 years Martha, parents Harry W. Sr. and Margaret Lucas, sisters Virginia Lucas and Donna Pelstring. He will be sadly missed by his four children, Diane, Kathleen, Nancy and David (Jackie); 6 grandchildren, Corey, Bryan (Kristin), Anthony, Brandon (Heather), Samantha and Dylan; 5 great-grandchildren, Christopher, Jace, Justice, Eames and Linden; sister-in-law, Therese Whalen; 3 nieces and 2 nephews. Harry was a 1946 graduate of St. Charles Preparatory School in Bexley, OH. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Korean War. He was employed by State Auto Ins. Co. on E. Broad St. for over 31 years as an Underwriter. He loved playing golf, cards, going to Mass and watching golf on TV. He also had several dachshund fur babies over the years. Benge, Evelyn  
Benge, Evelyn 1938 - 2018 Evelyn Benge, age 79, passed away January 6, 2018 at Grace Ridge Retirement Community, in Morganton, North Carolina after a long illness. Evelyn was born in New Albany, Indiana to Emmett and Ruth Smeathers Whittinghill on October 13, 1938. She graduated with honors from New Albany High School in 1956. She lived in Indianapolis, Indiana and Columbus, Ohio before her move to North Carolina. She was a long time member of Indianola Church of Christ in Columbus, Ohio and volunteered for the church and numerous organizations while raising her children. She loved spending time with loved ones, appreciated art, nature and enjoyed word games with family. She is preceded in death by her parents, 5 sisters and 3 brother and son Doug Benge. Evelyn is survived by loving husband, Bill Benge, children, Dee Benge, Jenny (Robert) Kent, Brenda (Andy) Stone, Jeff (Jena) Benge, Leslie (John) Kohlman;18 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 10 am at Indianola Church of Christ, 2141 Indianola Av, Columbus, OH.
