Albert Henry Romans, 73, of Palmer, Alaska, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours on May 29, 2014, at the Alaska Veterans & Pioneer Home.

Albert was born in Denver, Colorado on June 28, 1940. He spent 23 years in the United States Navy reaching the rank of Chief Petty Officer (E-7). Upon retirement from the Navy, Albert settled in Anchorage where he worked for Tesoro for over 15 years. At the age of 70, he moved into the Alaska Veterans & Pioneer Home in Palmer, where he made many new friends. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, and he enjoyed outings, reading, family gatherings, and anything related to United States History. Albert will be remembered for his love of God, caring for others, and his sunny/positive disposition. He will be greatly missed. Albert was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Helen Rinn; admired father, Walter Franklin Romans; brothers, Jim, Louie, and Bill Welker, and Earl Romans; sisters, Edna McCormick and Jeannie Dean.
Albert's memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., June 16, 2014, at Fort Richardson National Cemetery.
