Andy Ralph Fairbanks Sr., 75, died April 2, 2013 in Charlotte, NC, after a brief illness. Andy was born March 22, 1938 in Shageluk, Alaska to the late Arthur and Amelia Fairbanks. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Minnie Florence Fairbanks, second wife Maria Fairbanks, and five siblings: Herbert, Tony, Ignatius Fairbanks, and Angela Austin and brother in law Herman Hamilton. Andy Fairbanks was laid to rest at Hill Crest Memorial Gardens in Stanley, NC next to his wife Maria Fairbanks by his request.

Andy Sr. is survived by three children: Andy Jr. of Charlotte, Eddie of Morganton, and Nikki of Stanley, NC; two grandchildren, Tyonia and Denise Fairbanks and six siblings: Leo, Theresa, Helen, Harold, Ralph, Mary Fairbanks and numerous nieces and nephews.
Andy Fairbanks Sr. joined the Army in February 1963. After being discharged in 1969, he lived in Charlotte, NC. With his family, he came up to Anchorage, Alaska when his father passed and again in 2012 to visit family and friends. But his thoughts were always in North Carolina where his children and grandchildren live, he loved them so very much. Andy will be greatly missed and very loved by many.
There will be a Potluck on Friday, April 26th, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Moose Lodge 4211 Arctic Blvd., please bring a dish to share.
