Charles George Forselles, 90, passed away on his birthday January 30, 2014, at Prestige care in Anchorage.

He was born January 30, 1924 in Oakland, California where he graduated high school and then Enlisted in the Navy, serving from 1941-1945 during WWII. He then joined the Army serving from 1950-1953 during the Korean War and then Joined the Air Force from 1956-1959. He then went to work for the civil service in 1960 at Elmendorf AFB as a cook, retiring from the Federal Government in 1972. He was one of the last Pearl Harbor Survivors.
After arriving in Alaska in 1958, he never left the state. He lived in Kotzebue for 7 years, Nome for 4 years and in Anchorage for 43 years and was a past member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, "Grace" of Anchorage; son, Fred; daughters, Shirley Gray, Sharon Westlake and Elizabeth Forselles all of Anchorage; 37 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at noon Friday with Funeral services beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Witzleben Legacy Bragaw Chapel, 1707 S. Bragaw with Interment to follow at Ft. Richardson National Cemetery.
