Kim Levad nee Emmal, born January 21, 1962 in San Francisco, CA, passed away in her home from breast cancer on January 1, 2014. She died as she lived, surrounded by her loving and extensive family who never left her side during her short, courageous battle.
The Guest Book is expired.
Kim is survived by her father Donald Emmal; sisters Samantha, Tracy, Jennifer, Stephanie, Melissa, and Susan; two brothers Bryan and Pat; her husband of 27 years Scott; and her three children, Nathan, Tyler, and Andrew. She was preceded in death by her mother Sondra Emmal.
Her family moved to Alaska in 1964. She attended East Anchorage High School and Oregon State University where she graduated with honors with a B.S. in Education. She worked as a teacher until marrying and having children. Kim participated actively in her children's lives guiding their growth with wisdom beyond her years. She was the center of her family's love. Her ruthlessly unique intelligence and indelible humor expanded the perspectives of all those lucky enough to experience her, children and adults. Kim volunteered locally and abroad and, by always putting the needs of others ahead of her own, she taught by example true morality. She is loved abundantly and will be missed greatly.
