Mario V. Mitra, 77 years of age, peacefully returned to his Creator on Friday, June 27, 2014, at 8:00 p.m., Anchorage, Alaska. He is survived by his spouse, Mercedes Reyes; children, Marilou and Venerando Villegas, Menandro and Rofel Villacorta, Melissa and Satou, Melanie and Marlo Ochavido; 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

He was born at Tiaong, Quezon, Philippines to spouses Leopoldo G. Mitra and Mercedes Veneracion, both deceased. The eldest in the brood of seven siblings; Celso and Mercedita Pacheco; Delio and Eugenia Batoon; Dante and Celia Trinidad; Perla and Persie Aldaba; Minda and Eugenio Yabes; and Ramon; further survived by 11 nephews, 5 nieces, 23 grandchildren.
He graduated with honors at the Ateneo de San Pablo and finished his four year degree course on Criminology, at the Philippine College of Criminology. A former Manila Supervising Police Officer 2 of the Philippine National Police.
The visitation and viewing of the remains for the family and friends will be on Saturday, July 5, 2014, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., at Legacy Funeral Homes, Kehl's Chapel, 11621 Old Seward Highway, Anchorage, Alaska. Private cremation services will take place on Monday, July 7, 2014, at 11:00 a.m.
