Max L. Pedersen, was born January 10, 1941, to Harold and Leota of Caldwell, Idaho. After a lengthy illness, he died July 1, 2014. He lived in Alaska for the last 39 years residing in both Anchorage and Cantwell. He served in the United States Navy from 1958 to 1964. Max was a man of all trades but worked mostly in construction. He owned Chawnee Construction with his wife Irene. He enjoyed fishing, photography, and music. He enjoyed traveling to Arizona with Irene to visit family and friends. Most of all he enjoyed spending time, telling stories and jokes with his children and grand-children. He and Irene shared their love of the Lord with Greatland Gospel Singing Group and Max enjoyed leading the worship music and traveling to many different places around Alaska. In his last year of his life, he was cared for by his granddaughter Kayla in Anchorage. He is survived by his wife, Irene Pedersen of Cantwell, Alaska; sons, Randy and Travis of California and Arizona; daughters, Michelle, Belinda and Sherry of Arizona and Kellie and Loann of Alaska. Grandchildren Melissa, Jared, Kyle, Patrick, Janelle, Crystal, Ryan, Parker, Kayla, Tony, Derek and Jenna; and great grandchildren, Kayson and Albert; and sister Patty of Idaho. Services were held at the Cantwell Community Hall on July 5, 2014, at 2 p.m., with burial following at the Cantwell Native Cemetery. Officiating was Pastor George Richardson.
