Myrtle J. (Warren) Ferrell, 74, a spiritual woman kept her appointment with the Lord on the night of Wednesday, March 13. Suffering from heart disease, she exhibited exceptional heart and was always willing to help those in need. Gracious, kind, witty, and charming, Myrtle was a devoted wife to Norris Ferrell for 57 years.

Myrtle grew up in Marshall, Texas and attended Pemberton High and Wiley College. She taught school while in the lower 48. She moved to Alaska in December 1970 when her husband was stationed at Elmendorf AFB. Myrtle worked as a teacher at Tom Thumb Montessori School, and at National Bank of Alaska, in management, (later acquired by Wells Fargo), until she retired in 2000.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William C. Warren II and Ruth Warren, and her brothers, Edward L. Warren and William C. Warren III. In addition to her husband, she leaves behind her 5 children and their families: David Ferrell, daughter-in-law Kathleen and grandsons Ethan and Jordan of Stockton, CA; Beverly Ferrell of Renton, WA; Gwen Scott, son-in-law Dane and grandsons Samuel, Jadon and Isaiah of Rancho Cordova, CA; Warren Ferrell, daughter-in-law Michelle and grandsons Aaron, Noah and Joshua of Renton, WA; and Deborah Ferrell of Anchorage. She is also survived by her siblings: James Warren, Mildred D. Jones, Karen Nesbitt, Douglas Warren, and Melvin (Queen) Warren, all of Texas.
Those who knew her well, called her wonderful. While we are saddened by our loss, our sadness is tempered with the joy we have in knowing she has been called home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made the following organizations:

Funeral services will be held at her home congregation: Anchorage Church of Christ, 2700 DeBarr Road, on Saturday, March 23rd. Public viewing will be from noon to 1 p.m. Services will immediately follow at 1 p.m.
A Memorial Service will also be held in Marshall, Texas on Friday, March 22nd.
