Steven, age 58, passed away unexpectedly at his home June 27, 2013 in Anchorage, Alaska.

Steven Craig Bennett, son of Russell and Velma Bennett was born September 25, 1954 in Wessington Springs, SD. At a very young age the family moved to Selby, SD where he attended
Selby High School, the family moved to Huron, SD where he graduated from Huron High School in 1973. After graduation from High School he joined the army and flew helicopters. Before moving to Alaska, he was a crop sprayer. He worked in Anchorage, Alaska for L-3 Communications, flying Lear Jets and later, due to failing eyesight, became an airplane mechanic.
Steven always enjoyed fishing, especially salmon fishing in Alaska. He had special memories of fishing with his grandpa at a young age. He was always interested with airplanes of all sorts. He was a great cook. During high school, he cooked at Huron Restaurants part-time.
Steven is survived by his parents, Russell Bennett (Marquerite VanLoovan) of Yuma, Arizona and Velma Bennett of Denver, Colorado; one brother Jack (Filipina) Bennett of Yuma, Arizona; two sisters Paula (Bill) Thorstenson of Selby, SD and Diane Bennett of Madison, SD; two nieces, and five nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant brother; and grandparents Fay and Edna Bennett, Orie Lee and Myrtle Cosby of Wessington Springs.
A burial of cremains will be held in Anchorage, Alaska, No service is planned in South Dakota. He will always be remembered for his love of Nature, Fishing and airplanes.
