Bernie was a great friend, always willing to help a fellow Street Rodder. I met Bernie shortly after moving to Anchorage in 1983. Bernie helped me with the Restoration of my 1957 Chevrolet Belair in 1986. He rebuilt the Engine and worked on Chassis of my Car. He also built a Chevrolet Nova Wagon Wheel Stander, a 1953 Studebaker during the time that I knew him. His smile and helpful nature will be remembered by all that knew him.

We only had the pleasure of being with Bernie a few times since he lived a distance away from us. We did however get the wonderful opportunity to spend a week with him and family in Alaska where he did everything possible to make our visit memorable. He was a great man and surely will be missed. RIP Bernie we are sure you will be watching down on those you love.

Bernie and Jackie, his kids struck up a great and lasting friendship with my wife and I back in the early 80's. We so enjoyed the BBQ's and fun times we'd have at his home in Peter's Creek
Besides his great BBQ's, Bernie was also well know for his tamales and homemade ice cream along with a game of Five Handed Hearts. He was the one to beat but never felt sore even if he were to loose. It just gave him another challenge.
He helped me through many question & answer times while working on my '38 Ford and was always willing to get me going the right direction.
Bernie will be greatly missed for his love of both old cars and people, as well as our nation, his infectious laugh, his mechanical skills but most of all for his friendship.
Today he is resting in paradise with his loving wife Jackie. My condolences to his family.

My condolences to the Family, it's always a sad time when someone we love falls asleep in death. I didn't know Mr. Edwards personally but he must of been a very nice guy. May God's word be of comfort to you now and in the days ahead.
