AGE: 91 • Holiday City Berkeley

Al Sachse, age 91, of the Holiday City section of Berkeley Twp. passed away at home on Thursday, August 22, 2013. Al was born in Frieberg, Germany on October 3, 1921 to Frederick and Friedel Sachse. Al and his family came to the United States in 1925. In 1939, Al was in the Civilian Conservation Corp. and went on to serve in the US Army during WWII. He resided in New York for many years. He was a member of the Free Masons and local VFW. Al later moved to Linden, NJ and in 1992 to Toms River. He worked as a Plant Manager for many years for ITT Continental Baking Company in East Brunswick, NJ, retiring in 1984.

Al was preceded in death by his loving wife, Elisabeth Sachse and his daughter Michelle Liskh. He is survived by his three daughters, Judith Meaney of Glen Head, NY, Marilyn Callahan of Sequim, WA and Geri Davis and her husband Mike of Bayville, NJ; six grandchildren, Deborah Petry and her husband Glenn, Michael Meaney and his husband Fred Jagodzinski, Jeffrey Meaney and his wife Joan, Gregory Thorner and his wife KayLynn, Karla Ashby and Jennifer Turchin and her husband Todd; ten great-grandchildren; his brother, John Sachse and his wife Ann and his sister, Juanita Flandrau.

The family will receive relatives and friends Sunday, August 25, 2013 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, O'Connell Chapel, 706 US Hwy. 9 (Atlantic City Blvd.) Bayville, NJ 08721. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Al's memory to Compassionate Care Hospice, 1130 Hooper Avenue Toms River, NJ 08753. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting
