Arthur DeWitt Smock, Jr.

AGE: 88 • Brick

Arthur DeWitt Smock, Jr., 88, of Brick died Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at the Ocean Medical Center, Brick, NJ. He was born in Holmdel and had lived in Wall before retiring to Brick. Arthur proudly served his country in the US Navy during WWII. He was a manager at NJ Bell, Wall. He was a former member of the Manasquan Elks and was the caretaker of the Rose Gardens at the Manasquan Plaza for 15 years. Arthur and his wife were avid square dancers.

He was predeceased by his son, John in 1991 and his sister. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Rosemary nee Baggitt Smock; his son, Arthur D. III and his wife Betsy of Buxton, NC and his daughter, Catherine Smock of Brick. He also leaves two grandchildren, Erin and Evan and 3 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation Friday, July 18 from 2-5pm at Orender Family Home for Funerals, 2643 Old Bridge Road, Manasquan. A Service will be held on Friday during the visitation, the time is to be announced. Interment Private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to St. Jude's Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101.
