Charles G. Nuara of Greenbriar II in Bricktown, NJ passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2013. Approaching his 92nd birthday, Charles was born on July 6th, 1921 to Gaetano and Concetta Nuara in New York where he lived his early years on Mott Street. Charles served his country honorably during World War II, attaining the rank of Sergeant with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and completing active duty in North Africa, Italy, and France. Upon returning home, he married his sweetheart, Leonette Riggio, on July 20th, 1947. They moved to Scotch Plains, New Jersey where they raised four children, Thomas, Linda, Marie, and Leonard. An entrepreneur, Charles had a lengthy career in insurance, finance, and real estate that spanned more than five decades. In 1986, Charles and Leonette relocated to an adult community in Bricktown where they became an active part of a vibrant senior community.
Charles is survived by his wife, Leonette; four children and their spouses, and nine grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on Thursday from 4-8pm at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday 9:30am at St. Martha's Roman Catholic Church, Point Pleasant. Entombment will follow at St. Catharine's Cemetery in Sea Girt.
