Christina Marie Bloom
Christina Marie Bloom (born Maneri), died peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013, in her Manhattan home after a long battle with breast cancer, surrounded by her two children. A Christmas baby, she was born Dec. 25, 1958 to devoted parents, Vincent and Marie Maneri in Red Bank, NJ. She grew up in Holmdel, where she was the middle child of nine. In 1976, she graduated from Holmdel High as class president. She later earned her BA from Providence College in 1980.
Active in philanthropy, Christina served as a board member for the Joe Torre Safe at Home Foundation, and gave generously to cancer research, Operation Smile, and many other causes. In this spirit of giving, she has donated her body to cancer research. Christina's life's passion was to understand how and why people fall in love. Serving as CEO until her passing, she founded the innovative dating website FindYourFaceMate, based on the research that facial similarities spark greater chemistry, necessary for lasting love.
She is survived by her father, Vincent; her two children, Pierce and Victoria Delahunt; her eight astoundingly supportive siblings, Marie, Rose, Margaret, Teresa, Peter, Anne, Frank & Josephine; and her beloved 21 nieces and nephews. A caring mother, cool aunt, loyal sister and friend, and adoring daughter to her father and late mother, Marie, whom she missed profoundly. She joins her peacefully.
