AGE: 55 • Brick
Deborah (Cullinen) Sisk, 55, entered into her eternal glory on Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 22, 2013 in her home, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous two year fight against breast cancer. She lived and died for her Lord and friend, Jesus Christ, and every moment she spent here on earth was a testimony to that faith. She was born to George and Rose Cullinen in Jersey City, Jan. 8, 1958 and spent her happy childhood in Hazlet, NJ with her loving parents and sister. She graduated from Raritan High School in 1976 and received her BA in Early Childhood and Special Education from The College of Saint Elizabeth in Convent Station, NJ in 1980. She married her soulmate, hero, and best friend, Robert Sisk, on July 11, 1981. They settled in Brick where they built their home until her death. Desiring as many children as God would bless her with, she gave birth to her first daughter, Mary Christine in 1982 followed by Laura Elizabeth two years later. Elizabeth Mary Erin was born eight years after. She lived and died for her husband and children. She spent most of her life doing what she loved the most: creating a warm, loving, and happy home for her family. She filled it with music and prayer, encouraging her children with Scripture verses such as "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13). After home schooling all three of her daughters, she returned to teaching special education at New Road School in Parlin. She continued to teach in spite of weekly chemotherapy treatments up until one month before her passing. She often attended daily Mass and sang in the choir at Sacred Heart Church. She loved to cook and bake and was known for her delicious assortment of Christmas cookies. She loved vacationing with her family in Long Beach Island each Summer. She adored her two grandsons and loved spending time with them. With a perpetual smile on her face, all who met Debbie described her as a kind, patient, and forgiving woman whose love for God radiated to all she encountered.
She is survived by her devoted husband of thirty-two years, Robert; her three daughters, Mary Sisk, fiance Harold Gomes, Laura Olman, husband Robert Olman, and Elizabeth Sisk; her two grandsons, Jack and George; her mother, Rose Cullinen, and her sister, Donna Lowder, husband Rod Lowder.

A viewing will be held from 2-4pm and 7- 9 pm on Friday at Silverton Funeral Home, 2482 Church Rd, Toms River. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 am on Saturday at Sacred Heart Church in Bay Head.
