Edward A. Ferrari, Jr., 91, of Middletown, NJ, died on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 peacefully at his home. He was born in Newark and lived in the Middletown area for over 65 years. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. Edward was a lifelong supporter and Scout Master of the Boy Scouts of America, earning the Silver Beaver Award. He worked as an electrical contractor for Middletown Electric which he owned and operated for many years. Edward also owned and operated the Trinity Book Store in Middletown. He was very committed to his faith and his Church. He was an active parishioner of St. Mary's RC Church, New Monmouth, and St. Catherine's RC Church in Middletown.
Surviving are his 3 daughters, Francine Ferrari, his caregiver for the last six years; Nancy Ferrari, and Mary Beth Garrett; his 2 sons, Douglas and Gordon Ferrari; as well as 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Edward was preceded in death by his wife, Muriel; daughter, Barbara; son, Edward Ferrari, III.; sister, Marie Dolan; and brother, Joseph Ferrari.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 21, 2014 from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 pm at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 10:30 am at St. Mary's Chapel, 26 Leonardville Rd., New Monmouth. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
