AGE: 82 • Hazlet

Francis Robert Brown, 82, of Hazlet, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 14th at R.W. Johnson Medical Center in New Brunswick, with his family at his side. He was born on January 10, 1931 in Brooklyn, NY, and lived there until 1970 when he settled in Hazlet. Francis was a proud U.S. Marine Corp veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a survivor of the Frozen Chosin Reservoir and a recipient of the Purple Heart. Before retiring in 1979, he was a Lieutenant for the New York Fire Department. Upon his retirement from NYFD, he was a United States Postal employee for 10 years. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Margaret (Nutley) Brown, along with his 8 siblings.

Francis is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Mary Ann (McVeigh) Brown, his loving children, Daniel Brown and his wife Diane, Peter Brown and his wife June, Barbara O'Brien, Patricia Kenny and her husband Liam, Kathleen Adlard and her husband Mark, Mary Ann Franklin and her husband John, Robert Brown, Dennis Brown and his wife Jennifer, Kevin Brown and his wife Freda, Eugene Brown and his wife Elizabeth, Timothy Brown and his wife Kim, along with his dear sister, Margaret Brown. Francis is also survived by 28 cherished grandchildren and 15 adored great grandchildren. He will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, June 17th from 6 to 9 PM, Tuesday, June 18th, from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 PM and Wednesday June 19th, from 9 to 9:45 AM at the Shore Point Funeral Home, 3269 State Rt. 35 N., Hazlet. Mass of Christian Burial, Wednesday, June 19th, time to be announced, at St Catherine's R.C. Church in North Middletown. Interment, Mount Olivet Cemetery in Middletown, New Jersey.
