Frederick Russell Waitt, age 78 of Port St. Lucie, Fl. died October 11, 2013 at Port St. Lucie Medical Center. He was born in Jersey City and lived in Morganville for 34 years before moving to Port St. Lucie. He was a cowboy for the originator of the Swift Meat Packing Co. in Az. for several years. He served in the US Army and was a veteran of the 101st Airborne serving from 1958-1960. He graduated from McAllister School of Embalming, NY. He and his wife founded, owned and operated Waitt Funeral Home, Morganville for 34 years. He was a communicant of the Church of St. Clement, Matawan and a charter member of St. Clement's Holy Name Society. He was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Joseph's Council 3402, Keyport. He was past president of Matawan-Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce. He was a 20 year member of Morganville Independent Fire Co., Morganville. He was a charter member of Keyport-Matawan Elks Club and Charter member of the Lion's Club. He was a member of Rotary International and the National Rifle Association. He is pre deceased by his mother & father, Agatha & Craig Waitt. His son Frederick S. and daughter, Susan Ann Waitt. Survived by his wife of 51 years, Anna Marie Kleiber Waitt. Two sons Russell C. and Stephen T. both of Port St. Lucie, Fl. His brother, Craig Waitt of Keansburg and granddaughter Jessie Waitt of Williamsburg, VA. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 18, 2013 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Waitt Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Funeral Mass will take place Saturday, 11:00 AM at St. Clement Church, Matawan.
