George Panasuk, age 85, passed away at his home in Wall Township on Friday, June 6, 2014. Born to Russian and Polish immigrants, Michael and Rose, George was raised in Hightstown, NJ. As a child and young adult, he developed a strong work ethic as he worked the farm alongside his father. Upon graduation from Hightstown High School, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps rising to the rank of Captain as he flew fighter planes while serving in Korea. Honorably discharged in 1954, George spent the next 33 years as a commercial airline pilot for TWA before retiring in 1988. George spent his retirement enjoying his grandchildren, fishing, and along with Barbara, took great pleasure caring for countless wild and domestic animals that called Remsen Mill their home.

George was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Barbara and two sisters, Dorothy and Teresa. He is survived by his sister, Alice of Tinton Falls; his sons, George M. Panasuk and wife Carol of Collierville, TN, Dr. D. Bruce Panasuk and wife Cindy of Landenberg, PA, Stephen W. Panasuk and wife Linda of Point Pleasant, and Dr. Gregory S. Panasuk and wife Susie of Wall. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Michael and Lauren Panasuk, Brian, Elizabeth and Matthew Delaney, Emily and Justin Cross, John and fiancée Erin, Stephen Jr., Robbie, Nicole, Alexandra, Luke, and 3 great grandchildren, Selah, Libby, and Jay.

Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial visitation Friday, July 25, 2014 from 4-7pm at Orender Family Home for Funerals, 2643 Old Bridge Road, Manasquan, to include a Celebration of Life Service at 6pm here at the funeral home. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to POAC (Parents Of Autistic Children), 1989 Route 88, Brick, NJ 08724.
