AGE: 84 • Clarksburg

Gilbert J. Pavone, 84, of Clarksburg, entered into God's loving arms on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013. He passed away at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in New York, NY, Mr. Pavone graduated from Queens College in 1951. He voluntarily enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Following his honorable discharge, Gilbert received his master's degree from City College. He was a licensed CPA and in 1984 became the president and owner of Jilco Equipment Leasing Co. until his retirement in 2006. He enjoyed sailing, building model trains and jogging, having completed the NYC Marathon in 1979.

Predeceased by his parents, Francis and Nellie Pavone; his brother, Louis Arthur and his sister, Norma McGrail; he is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Dawn Pavone; his daughters, Donna Elizabeth and husband Thomas Matt and Denise Patricia and husband Jeffrey Storck; his son, Steven Gilbert Pavone; and his grandchildren, Geoffrey Thomas Matt, Lauren Elizabeth Brooks, Julie Brooks and Spencer Brooks.

Family and friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013 at Glackin/Saul Funeral Home, 135 Morrison Ave., Hightstown. Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 13, 2013 at Glackin/Saul Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 13, 2013 at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, 251 Franklin St., Hightstown. Interment will follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Gilbert's memory to St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, 251 Franklin St., Hightstown, NJ. www.saul funeralhomes.com
