Helen C. Wolf, age 88 of Barnegat passed away peacefully at Southern Ocean Center on Sunday February 16, 2014. She was born the youngest of six children on June 22, 1925. Helen grew up in Roselle, NJ. She loved softball and school, but growing up during the Great Depression was not easy for her and her family. Helen left Abraham Clark High School to work in a button factory (her first job) to help out. Soon the men were fighting in WWII and Helen became a "Rosie the Riveter" at the General Motors Plant in Linden. After the war Helen met her soon to be husband of 62 yrs. Henry F. Wolf Jr. They married on Nov. 8th 1947 at St. Vladimir's Greek Catholic Church, Elizabeth and lived in Elizabeth for a short time. On May 2, 1949 Helen gave birth to her first child Christina, soon after the family moved to Clark, NJ. On July 25, 1951 Helen made history by giving birth to triplet girls, Carol, Barbara and Joan came on the scene. A couple years afterwards, the family moved back to Elizabeth, Where Helen spent her time caring for family. She worked for Singer Sewing Machines for a while and where her husband retired from Ward Foods Inc. They moved to Barnegat, NJ. While in Barnegat Helen enjoyed boating, gardening, watching Yankee Baseball and worked in the cafeteria at Elizabeth V Edwards grammar school. She very much enjoyed family gatherings with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Helen was predeceased by her husband Henry F. Wolf Jr. in 2009, her parents Kristina and Vaorek Skorenki, her brother Peter Skorenki, her sisters Julia Kosiarski, Doris Dobbins, Vera Gilligan, and Anna Melofchik. Surviving are daughters Christina Lejda of Barnegat, Carol Wolf of Roselle Park, Barbara and her husband Charles Rich of Barnegat and Joan and her husband Barry Gustafson of South Plainfield, 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Viewing will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and on Friday from 9 - 9:30 am at the Bugbee-Riggs Funeral Home 335 S. Main Street (Route 9) Barnegat. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10am at St. Mary's RC Church, 747 West Bay Ave. Barnegat interment shall follow at Barnegat Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contrabutions should be made to St. Mary's RC Church C/o Ken's Kitchen P.O. Box 609, Barnegat, NJ 08050 in Mrs. Wolf's Memory.
