Irving A. Enevold
AGE: 94 • Toms River
Irving A. Enevold, 94, of Toms River, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at Ocean Medical Center in Brick. He was born and raised in Chicago, IL. He was a graduate of Libertyville High School and Lake Forest College. He lived in Paris, France for seven years and also in Perth Amboy, NJ, and Madison, WI before settling in Toms River in 1983. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a Commander where he fought and flew in the South Pacific Theatre during World War II. He was a Sales Engineer with the Carborundum Corporation based in Niagara Falls, NY, until his retirement in 1981.
Irving was a retired officer of the Toms River Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Lodge #1875, the Squire Village Homeowners Association, and the Italian American Club of Toms River. He loved outdoor activities including water skiing, boating, fishing, and traveling - especially on Windjammer Cruises. He also enjoyed bowling, antique cars, and snow skiing with the Plainfield Ski Club. His greatest joy was his grandchildren and attending their soccer games. He was very proud of them and their accomplishments and bragged about them to everyone that he could.
Irving was predeceased by his parents, Irving and Rose Enevold; and his brother, Norman Enevold. He is survived by his wife, Beatrice; his daughter and son-in-law, Jeanine and Al Fasano of Brick; his sisters, Rose Coy of New London, NH, and Edith Dahm of Overland Park, KS; and his grandchildren, Nicole and A.J.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, 2012 at Weatherhead Young Funeral Home, 885 Mantoloking Road, Brick. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22 at the funeral home, followed by entombment at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Toms River.
