John Frank Gebbia

AGE: 83 • Manchester

John Frank Gebbia, 83, of Leisure Knoll, Manchester, NJ died Monday, June 30, at home. Born in Clifton, he lived in Hawthorne prior to moving to Manchester in 2002. He was employed as a banker for 40 years starting at the People's Trust Bank, Lodi and retiring in 1995 while employed at PNC Bank, Pompton Plains Branch. He was a graduate of the Nyack Bible College, Nyack, NY majoring in Christian Education. He was a life member of the VFW Post #5082, Lodi. He belonged to the Kiwanis Club of Englewood/Englewood Cliffs and the Chamber of Commerce, Englewood. He was active in the Boys Club and Little League of Prospect Park. He was a member of the Italian-American and Veterans Clubs of Leisure Knoll, Manchester. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was also an avid sports and St. Louis Cardinal fan. Surviving is his wife of 58 years, Barbara Roberts Gebbia, 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, John and Ellen Gebbia of Lawrenceville, GA, Mark Gebbia of Manchester, and a granddaughter, Lauren. Visitation is Sunday from 1-5 pm at the Oliverie Funeral Home, 2925 Ridgeway Road, Manchester. Funeral Service is Monday at 10:00 am at the funeral home with burial to follow at the Brigadier Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers, please make all donations in his name to the Ocean County Humane Society, 1 Humane Way, Forked River, NJ 08731.
