Mr. John J. Millett, beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away on the evening of June 25, 2013. Mr. Millett was born in Scranton, Pa in 1927 , raised in Staten Island, NY and resided in Matawan, NJ since 1971. Mr. Millett was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean War. He was a member of the Society of Former Special Agents for the Federal Bureau of Investigation and a member of the Catholic Church. He earned a Juris Doctorate from the New York School of Law and a bachelor's degree from Wagner College. Mr. Millett was an avid sailor, skier, artist, swimmer and orator. He endured many years of personal physical challenges and was a model of perseverance and courage.
Visitation will be held on Thursday June 27, 2013 from 7-9pm and Friday June 28, 2013 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Waitt Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 501 Highway 79, Morganville, NJ 07751. A funeral mass will take place on Saturday June 28, 2013 at 10:30am at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Staten Island, followed by Entombment in Resurrection Cemetery Staten Island. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the "Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation" in memory of John J. Millett.
