She started her teaching career in Washington State and retired from Harmony School in Middletown after 27 years.
She married Dale Everett Johnson of Grand Marais, MN January 2, 1952 at MacDill Air Force Base near Tampa, FL. They raised four children and travelled extensively for many years. They enjoyed competitive bridge, gourmet dinner parties, hunting, golfing and boating together.

Lois will be fondly remembered by her friends and family as a spirited woman who built an atmosphere of style and occasion, whipping up late night dinners (a martini in hand) and conversation, always fashionable, organized and independent.
