Martin Daniel Screen, Sr., 84, went home to God on January 19, 2014 while surrounded by family. He was born in Brooklyn, NY to the late James and Mary (Kelly) Screen of County Galway, Ireland. A graduate of St. John's Prep in Brooklyn, NY, and Niagara University. Mr. Screen spent many years working and managing his family's restaurant in Manhattan. Mr. Screen was a 60-year communicant of Holy Cross Church in Rumson, NJ, where he served as an usher for 35 years. His strong faith made him a frequent attendee of daily mass and nocturnal adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and served on the Holy Cross School Board of Education. He recently became a member of the Church of the Nativity in Fair Haven, NJ. Martin served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. The couple had three children and nine grandchildren. A long-time fan of the Giants and the Brooklyn Dodgers, Mr. Screen was an avid tennis player and a proud member of the Sal's Tavern Softball team.
