Norman George Grill, Sr. of Barnegat passed away peacefully on Friday, April 26, 2013. He was born and raised in Irvington, N.J. Norman proudly served in the Army Air Force during World War II from Oct.17, 1941, thru Sept. 15, 1945. He served overseas in the European-African-Middle Eastern campaign; also served six months in Russia. At the time of discharge, he was a technical sergeant.

He and his loving wife, Ella JoAnn, resided in New Orleans for two years, 46 years in Glen Ridge, N.J., moving to Barnegat in 2002. Their beloved son, Norman G. Grill, Jr. and his wife, Lauri, have two sons, Chad and Tyler, his wife Erin and their adorable daughter, Harper Jane, the delight of her great-grandpa.

Norman attended Fairleigh Dickinson and the American Institute of Banking. He is a past commander of the Air Force Association. Norman retired from the First Fidelity Bank in Newark (now Wells Fargo) in 1998 as Vice President. He enjoyed his Giants, Yankees, Atlantic City jaunts, chess club, morning walks at the Mirage and most of all spending time with his beloved family.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial service at 1:30pm, Wednesday, May 1 at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery's chapel, 350 Provinceline Road, Wrightstown, New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to your local VFW. Arrangements are under the direction of Ocean County Cremation Service, Forked River.
