Robert A. Candeloro, "Bob," 71, of Keansburg, entered eternal life on Christmas Day. Robert was born on December 2, 1941 in Jersey City and grew up in East Keansburg. In 1973, he settled in Keansburg. Bob entered into the U.S. Marine Corps in 1959-1964. While stationed in Parris Island, SC, he met his future wife, Karin (Peda) Candeloro, who was serving in the Women's Marine Corps. Bob loved his boat, "The Candy Man" and his best friend, his dog, "Buddy." He worked as a barber and after became owner and operator of American Roofing from 1976 to 1998, before retiring with the Borough of Keansburg.
He is predeceased by his parents, Alfred and Angelina (Russo) Candeloro. Robert is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 49 years, Karin (Peda) Candeloro; his loving children, Kimberli Lawrence and her husband Steve, Anthony Candeloro and Michael Candeloro, all of Keansburg; his cherished grandchildren, Steven (a former Marine), Robert, Christopher, Brendan, Angelina, and Christina, along with his adored great granddaughter, Bailey. He is also survived by his dear sisters, Eileen Livigni and her husband Mike of Port St. Lucie, FL, Nancy Matthews of Waretown; his cousin, Kathleen Purdom and her husband John of Middletown, along with many special cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, December 28th from 7 to 9PM and Saturday morning, December 29th from 9 to 9:45 AM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 3269 State Rt. 35 N, Hazlet. Mass of Christian Burial, Saturday, December 29th, St. Catherine's R.C. Church, N. Middletown, 10:30 AM. In respect of Robert's wishes, he will be privately cremated.
