Robert David Pyne, 84, of Wall, passed away on Monday, Dec. 16, 2013, at home with his family by his side. Robert was born in New York City and raised in Jersey City and had lived there until he moved to the shore area. Robert had lived in Brielle before moving to Four Seasons at Wall. Robert was a graduate of Dickinson High School and received a BS from Rutgers University. Robert is a United States Marine veteran of the Korean War. Upon his return from serving in the military, Robert was sole proprietor in the family business, Bob's Express and Trucking, Jersey City. Robert was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus 3231, a member of the Manasquan Elks Lodge 2534 and the Four Seasons Marines.

Robert was predeceased by his parents, David and Mary Pyne. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Catherine "Dolores" Pyne of Wall; 2 sons, Robert Pyne and his wife Kathy of Aurora, IL and Kevin Pyne of Wall; three daughters and their spouses, Colleen and Loren Dingley of Wall, Debbie and Robert Dingley of Wall and Donna and Kevin Hurley of Spring Lake. Robert is also survived by 16 grandchildren, Sean, Jeffrey, Timothy, Jennifer, Bobby Jr, Kyle, Kelly, Shannon, Erin, Brian, Conner, Ryan, Griffin, Shane, Tyler and Jake; eight great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18 at Orender Family Home for Funerals, 2643 Old Bridge Road, Manasquan. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 19 at St. Denis Church, Manasquan. Cremation will be private.
