Robert Ray Horton

AGE: 76 • Hazlet

Robert Ray Horton, 76, of Hazlet, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, at his daughter's home in Tinton Falls. Robert was born on Jan. 25, 1937 in Manhattan, NY and grew up in the Bronx, NY. In 1974, he and his family settled in Hazlet. Robert was a proud U.S. Marine Corps veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Marie Violet (Joskey) Horton; his beloved 1st wife, Shirley Anne Horton; his adored 2nd wife, Irene Horton; and his daughter, Doreen Marie Horton. Robert is survived by his loving daughter, AnneMarie O'Keefe and her husband Michael of Tinton Falls; his dear step children, John Gawlik and his wife Darlene of CA, Michael Gawlik and his wife Teresa of Teaneck, and AnnMarie Gawlik of Red Bank; his cherished grandchildren, Kiara Marie Tuschmann, Michael O'Keefe Jr., Korin Modoni and her husband Joseph Modoni, Matthew Gawlik, Evan Gawlik; his adored great-grandchildren, Jaime O'Keefe and Joseph Modoni, along with his special nieces, Crystal Ann and Ashley Garcia and his great-nephew, Colin. He will be sadly missed, but never forgotten. Family and friends are invited for a memorial visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, with a prayer service at 12:30 p.m. at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 3269 State Rt. 35 N, Hazlet.
