Stephen J. Jackowski, 75, of the Midway Beach section of South Seaside Park, Berkeley Twsp., died Saturday, July 5, 2014, at Deborah Heart and Lung Center, Browns Mills. Born in Trenton, he lived in Hamilton Twsp. before moving to Midway Beach in 1992. Stephen had summered there for 40 years. Stephen was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and worked as a Fireman at Ladder 1 in the city of Trenton. He also worked for the Boro of Seaside Park with the Beach Control Dept. He was a member, former secretary and treasurer of the F.M.B.A. and a member of the Moose Lodge in Ortley Beach. Stephen enjoyed fishing, watching the Atlanta Braves Baseball and NJ Devil's Hockey. Also, he was an avid coin collector and enjoyed hunting.
He is survived by 3 sons, Brian D. of Toms River, Stephen J. of Douglas, Mass., and Joseph P. of Matawan; a daughter, Kristine Gresko of Hamilton Twsp. and their mother Kathleen; 4 grandchildren, Stephen, Madison, Michael Jr. and Aubree. Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 995 Fischer Blvd., Toms River. The funeral service will be held Wednesday 11am at the funeral home with burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery Toms River. Donations may be made to Deborah Heart and Lung.
