She lived in Hazlet, NJ before moving to Lincroft 30 years ago. Susan met her husband Richard T. Carle at the University of Kentucky in 1968 while they were both in college. In May this year Susan was blessed with the birth of her first grandchild Logan Desmond, whom she adored.
Susan enjoyed working with many great colleagues over the years at Brookdale Community College, most recently as box office manager at the Performing Arts Center. She also volunteered at and ran the River Plaza Lincroft Chargers Youth Cheerleading Club while her daughters were in school and for many years afterward. She was a voracious reader, avid gardener and loved cooking with her daughters. Before she was diagnosed with breast cancer 4 years ago, she and Rich had the pleasure of making two first-time trips to Europe and loved exploring Italy and Spain. Susan was a big sports fan and kept her passion for her Chicago roots, always cheering for her beloved Chicago Cubs.
