William "Billy" Albert Hoever, 70, of Jackson Twp., NJ, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014, at Bartley Healthcare, Jackson Twp., NJ. He was born in Lakewood, NJ, and was a lifelong resident of Jackson Twp. He was retired from the Jackson Twp., Police Department where he served as a police officer for 22 years. He was employed as a post retirement security officer for Metro One in New York City, N.Y. William was a US Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War when he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and the Expert Badge. He was a member of the Central Jersey Rifle and Pistol Club and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.
William was predeceased by his father, Otto Albert Hoever. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Dawn (Salafia) Hoever; his mother, Margaret Hoever of Arrington, VA; his sister and brother-in-law, Margaret Hoever Dyer and Dave Dyer of Arrington, VA; his step son, David Michael Smith of Bordentown, NJ; and his step daughter, Louise Marie Smith of Jackson Twp., NJ.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his visitation on Wednesday, September 3, 2014, from 4-8 PM, at the George S. Hassler Funeral Home, 980 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ 08527. His Funeral Service will be offered on Thursday, September 4, 2014, at 10:00 AM at the Funeral Home.
