William D. Wright, 71, of Hazlet, passed away suddenly on Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012, at his home. He was born on June 15, 1941 in Kearny and grew up in Union Beach. He and his wife Joy were currently settled in Hazlet. William was a retired electrician for Local #358 and was also a proud U.S. Coast Guard veteran. He was an avid boater and was also a member of the Keyport Yacht Club for 25 years.
He was predeceased by his parents, William and Georgie Dickerson Holland Wright; and his dear son, William Dunbar Wright III. William is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Joy (Brown) Wright; his loving sons, Craig Wright and his wife Suzanne of Matawan, Keith Wright and his wife Dina of Marlboro, and Kevin Wright and his fiancé Christina of Hazlet; his dear sister, Linda Morrison and her husband William of PA; and his mother-in-law, Margaret Donohue. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Jared, Nicholas and Joseph Blaise Wright, along with his adored nieces, Kimberly Dawson and Shannon King. He will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.
Family and friends are invited to visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19 and Monday morning, Aug. 20, time TBA at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3269 State Rt. 35 N, Hazlet. Mass of Christian Burial, Monday morning, Aug. 20 at St. Benedict R.C. Church, Holmdel, time TBA. In respect of William's wishes, he will be privately cremated.
