William T. (Bill) Ludwig, died peacefully on Sunday, April 14, 2014, of natural causes with his family at his side. Bill lived most of his life in North Bergen. He served as a stateside medical assistant during World War II and the Korean War and, after his honorable discharge, worked as a plumber and later as a plumbing foreman until his retirement in 1987. He also served between 1974 and 1982 on the board of commissioners of the North Bergen Swimming Pool. Upon his retirement, Bill and his wife moved to Manchester Township (Pine Ridge) in southern New Jersey, where he served as Chief of the Pine Ridge Safety Patrol for several years. For the last three years, he had been residing at the New Jersey Veterans Home in Paramus.
He is predeceased by his wife, Mildred (Mickey) and is survived by his sons, William, Steven, and Thomas and their wives Mary Ann, Susan, and Elizabeth; two grandsons, Billy and Matthew; his sister, Joan Deevy; brother, Ronald and sister-in-law, Carol; and six nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 21 at the Family Owned Carmona-Bolen Home for Funerals, 66 Lacey Road, Manchester Township. Funeral mass will be at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, April 22 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton R.C. Church, Whiting. Interment will follow at the N.J. Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown.
