Swanson, Allan Russell
Allan Russell Swanson, 76, a long-time resident of Peoria, AZ, passed peacefully from this life on June 9, 2014, in Rochester, NH, with his family near. Preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Henrietta Swanson. Survived by daughters Tammy Sue Hardcastle Swanson of Chesterfield, Missouri; Shawn (Dennis) McCormick of Broadlands, Illinois; and Lindsey (Steve) Blanchette of Manchester, New Hampshire; grandchildren, John and Rick Hardcastle; Ryan, Jacob, and Dallas McCormick; Zoey and Zander Blanchette; sister, Judy (Rick) Caldwell of Silver Plume, CO; other family and many friends. Allan served in the Marines, studied architecture at the University of Illinois, and then made his career as both a commercial artist and as a fine artist in oils and water colors, in Illinois, Missouri, and Arizona. Allan will be remembered for his art, his sense of humor, and as a good friend and neighbor. Of his own death he wrote, "I spread my wings as I continue my joyous flight on a new canvas."
