. A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday April 12 at the First Congregational Church of Tempe, 101 E. Sixth Street, Tempe, Arizona. A native Arizonan, Betty was born August 18, 1926, to Bee and Connie Waples of Prescott. She graduated from Arizona State College (ASU) in 1948 with a degree in education and taught kindergarten in Prescott. Betty married Richard Enz and they established their home in Tempe where they raised three children, Donald Enz, Connie (Enz) Taysom, and Cathy Enz. She is described by her family as dynamic, charming, loyal, authentic, driven and fun. Her involvement in civic, community, and religious organizations was so comprehensive that she was recognized and celebrated many times for her service. She gave generously of her time and leadership roles in the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), First Congregational Church of Tempe, Church Women United, boards and commissions for the City of Tempe, and served as a docent and board member of the Tempe Historical Museum. She was an irresistible force for good in her family and community, and her family feels blessed to have had such an extraordinary model of loving care. Betty was preceded in death by her parents and brother. She is survived by her husband, three children and their spouses, seven grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
