Heintzelman, Charles Wesley Jr. (Charlie)
Passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 2nd, 2013. Born in Larwill, IN to Charles and Miriam Decker Heintzelman on November 25th, 1931, he moved to Charleston WV in 1949 and married Carol Lee Schaefer. He was a member of the US Navy and a Korean War Veteran. Charlie was a lifetime member of Kiwanis International and was critical to the success of their Hugh O'Brien Youth Foundation. The couple moved to Phoenix in 1988. Charlie helped establish Progressive Financial Services Inc., a company which he considered to be part of his family until his death. Charlie was a member of the AZ VOTD Chorus, Phoenix Primetimers and Metropolitan Community Church. There was never a day that went by where Charlie did not have a smile on his face. His positive attitude served as an inspiration for others. He is survived by his wife Carol of Mesa and his daughter Lisa Ewing of Chandler. A celebration of Charlie's incredible life will be held on Saturday, August 24th at the Metropolitan Community Church, 715 E Southern Ave, Phoenix at 1:00 p.m.
