Christopher Ballesteros, of Tempe passed away suddenly on January 3, 2013. Christopher was born on January 7, 1991 in Mesa, Arizona. Chris was a loving and kind son, grandson, brother, cousin, and friend. He was known for his sense of humor and big heart. Chris spent his high school and part of his college years living with his aunt and uncle in Tempe. He was a senior at Arizona State University pursuing a degree in Microbiology. Chris was a member of the Tau Psi Omega Fraternity. He worked for the past six years for the City of Tempe Kid Zone Enrichment Program and enjoyed working with his kids and coworkers. Chris is survived by his mother, Christie Peterson and her husband, Richard; his father, Jeffrey Stephens; Aunts and Uncles MaryAnn Ballesteros-Billingsley and Matt Billingsley, Kelly and David Sasso, Michael and Koko Stephens and Art Ballesteros; brothers, Nicholas and Zachary Edwards; maternal grandparents, Francisco and Sally Ballesteros; paternal grandparents, Jim and Myrna Stephens and Ann and Del Burke; cousins and best friends, Aj Ballesteros, Matthew Billingsley and Erika BeDillon-Billinglsey; Anthony Billingsley; Rieanna and Jesse Ballesteros; Houston Miller; Sam and Nick Sasso. Visiting hours will be from 5-8 pm on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Tempe Mortuary, 405 E Southern Ave in Tempe. Christopher's service will take place at 10:00 am on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at the same location. Flowers may be sent to Tempe Mortuary or in lieu of flowers donations may be sent to The ASU Foundation for A New American University, Financial Services, P.O. Box 2260 Tempe, AZ 85280-2260 for a scholarship to be established in Christopher's name to help with a fraternity brother's education.
