Casalino, Dave
87, passed away at home surrounded by his family on June 18, 2014. Dave was born on October 2, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois the son of Rose and Stanley. Dave is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lita. Dave was preceded by son, David Jr. and sisters, Ida, Alice and Maria. He is survived by sons Mark (Coni), John; grandchildren, Carla and Ben; brother, Orlando; and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Dave served as Military Police in the U.S. Army in World War II. He drove a Gonnela Bread truck for 20 years and became the proud owner of Dot's Spot in Oaklawn, Illinois. Family moved to Tucson, Arizona where he owned Barney's Deli and then retired to Phoenix to be close to sons and family. Dave was a proud member of VFW Post 9400. Dave loved dancing the night away and was a member of the Arizona American Italian Club where he will be sorely missed. A celebration of his life is being held from 5:00-9:00 PM on Monday, June 23, 2014 at Hansen Chapel, 8314 N. 7th Street, Phoenix, AZ. Memorial Mass on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Parish, 11001 N. 40th Street, Phoenix. Burial to follow at St. Francis Cemetery, 2033 N. 48th Street, Phoenix. Those we love do not go away, they walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear.
