Bud Wolfe passed away on April 24, 2013, of complications from a long battle with Alzheimer's. He was born on May 12, 1928, in South Bend, IN, to Mary and Elery Wolfe. In 1946, he graduated with honors from Bremen High School and then enlisted in the Army Air Corps . He trained in Texas and later served in the Korean War. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal for his service. He joined TWA in 1954, and was based in Chicago. He was awarded his captain's wings in 1961. He and his family moved to Scottsdale, AZ, in 1972, and he remained based in Chicago until near the end of his career when he was based in Los Angeles. He retired from TWA in 1988. He was a lifelong model airplane enthusiast and built and flew many different models, attending contests all over the country. He is survived by his wife Helen, daughters Peggy Wolfe and Janice Christian, son-in-law Sean Christian, and grandchildren Scott and Annika. A memorial service will be held on May 11 at 2:00 p.m. in Kilgore Chapel at Valley Presbyterian Church, 6947 E. McDonald Dr., Paradise Valley, AZ 85253.
