Tatum, Edmon
Age 88, of Sun Lakes, Az, died Saturday morning, Dec.21, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. Born January 6, 1925 in Holden, Louisiana, he was the son of the late Edmon Sr. and Eunice Tatum. Ed joined the Marine Corps right after high school in June of 1942 and fought courageously in WWII. He then married and moved to Philadelphia, PA where he earned his living and raised his family. He retired and moved to Sun Lakes, AZ where he lived happily for the rest of his days. Ed or Eddie, as he was known to friends and family, was an extremely gifted carpenter and was always happy to share this gift with the fixer-upper challenged masses. Travel
ing was his passion. Ed always wanted to see what was on the "other side of the mountain". He is survived by Jerri Tatum, his loving wife and traveling companion of 67 years; along with two devoted daughers; Sandi Matzelle of Sun Lakes, AZ and Debra and Brian Wilson of Maricopa, AZ, 4 grandchildren, Dawn Lott, Randi and Brett Dallas, Joshua and Kerri Hammer and Benjamin Hammer; 3 great-grandchildren Rio and Remi Hammer and Kyle Lott and his sister Pearl and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services for Ed will be held at 10:00 a.m.on Thursday, December 26 at The Bueler Chandler Mortuary, 14 W. Hulet Dr., Chandler, AZ 85225, followed by burial at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, Phoenix, AZ 85024. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to , 1510 E. Flower St, Phoenix, AZ or the . Family and friends will be gathering at Jerri's home from 2:00 p.m. after the service.
