92, aka Carolyn Marlar Long, passed away on October 4, 2012. Born in Phoenix, AZ to J. Floyd & Jennie Lee Marlar, an Arizona pioneer family. She graduated from Cartwright Grammar School, Phoenix Union High School and attended ASC (Arizona State College which is now Arizona State University). She met and married her beloved husband Conrad A. Long in 1940. He was serving in the U.S. Air Force and was killed in a plane crash in 1962. She is survived by her brother, Brooks Marlar, three nephews, Craig, Kirk (Jan) and Jason (Kristi) Marlar, two great nieces and two great nephews and one great step niece. After her husband's death in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan, she returned to Phoenix and was employed by the State of Arizona working in the payroll department until her retirement in 1982. She maintained an active life, being a member of the First Families of Arizona, the Gold Star Wives of America, Inc, Phoenix Union High School Alumni Ass'n, Qadesh Temple No. 35, Daughters of the Nile and Lakeview United Methodist Church, Sun City, AZ. Private interment in Greenwood Cemetery Mausoleum and a Memorial will be held at a later date. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to
