Hubler, Gannon Mathers
46, of Phoenix, passed away on Nov. 24, 2013. An award-winning photojournalist and former video production manager for the Phoenix Coyotes, he was beloved as a father, brother, uncle, son and friend. Born in Morrisdale, Pa., he attended West Branch High School before earning his bachelor's degree at Arizona State University. He went on to work as a news photographer and editor for television news organizations in Winston-Salem, N.C., and Phoenix, including KPHO-TV and KNXV-TV and KTVK-TV, before joining the broadcasting staff of the Phoenix Coyotes. He was as gifted as he was compassionate and warm-hearted, and he earned 23 Emmy Awards for photojournalism, lighting, producing and editing, and shared a prestigious Edward R. Murrow Award for outstanding achievement in digital journalism in 2006. Predeceased by his mother, Dolores Hubler, he is survived by his former wife Tiffany Woodruff-Hubler and son, Logan, of Chandler, AZ.; his father, Charles Hubler and brother Grey Hubler of State College, Pa.; sisters Shawn Hubler Magnuson of Laguna Beach, Ca., Erin Hughes of Irvine, Ca., and Heather Talbot of Tucson, Az., and nine nieces and nephews. A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, January 12, from 1-5 p.m. at Tumbleweed Park, 745 E. Germann Rd, Chandler, Az., in the South Mountain Pavilion. A second memorial for Pennsylvania friends and family is planned for later in the year.
