82, of Phoenix, Arizona passed away on January 11, 2014. George was born January 27, 1931 in Phoenix, Arizona to a pioneer family. His grandfather had one of the 1st newspapers in Phoenix. His uncle was Reverend Frederick McNeil at Trinity Cathedral. George went to Phoenix Union High School for 2 years before transferring to Bisbee High School for his junior year, where his mother graduated. George graduated from Litchfield High in 1949 where he lettered in football, basketball, baseball and track. He scored 6 touchdowns against rival Peoria High, a record that stood for many years. George served 4 years in the Air Force during the Korean War. After the
service he met and married Patricia Caruthers in 1956. He worked for the State of Arizona, Department of Transportation for 25 years. He also coached Little League for 12 years. He is survived by his wife, Patricia, daughter Margaret Waters, son Daniel McNeil, son Dr. David McNeil (Nicole), granddaughters Trisha Waters, Ella McNeil, grandsons Greg Waters, Tyler Johnson, KC McNeil, Michael McNeil and great-grandson Angel Molina. A Celebration of Life will be determined at a later date. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to a local school.
