Dedicated father, beloved husband and exceptional friend, Jerry Kosisky passed away suddenly January 8, 2013 at the age of 53. Jerry was born on March 28, 1958 in Lakewood, Ohio to parents Libby and Frank Kosisky, both of whom preceded him in death. At 13, Jerry came to Arizona with his parents and brother, Ken while older brother Ron remained in Cleveland. He graduated from Westwood High School in Mesa, Arizona. Jerry met the love of his life Carol Griego and they were married February 11, 1995. Their only son, Zackary was born and the three became a very close knit, complete and supportive family. Under Jerry's tutelage, Zack, as a young child, developed into an expert and competitive chess player. As Zack grew his interest changed to basketball. Jerry attended every one of Zack's games cheering him on and mentoring his own positive competitive spirit in his son. No son could have asked for a more involved and encouraging father.
A graduate of Arizona State University, Jerry returned and taught Logic there and also at Glendale Community College for 20 years. He enjoyed and appreciated all things computer. As a Computer Analyst for 4Sight Technologies, he had a tenacious work ethic and was highly regarded and respected by his clients and co-workers.
Jerry, an unassuming, quiet and gentle man, was an amateur astronomer, but he also had a fierce passion for soccer and relished the camaraderie of his soccer friends. His family and friends will greatly miss Jerry's calm nature, his generous spirit and his compassionate character and mild mannered temperament.
A celebration of Jerry Kosisky's life will be held Friday, January 18, 2013 at 4:00 pm at Angels Cremation and Burial 422 W. McLellan Road, Mesa, Arizona.
To allow Zack the same opportunity as his father, clients of Jerry's have created a College Fund for Zackary Kosisky ( in memo line: Gerard Kosisky memorial fund). In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Desert Schools Federal Credit Union 4619 E. Cactus Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85032.
