Beloved mother, grandmother and YiaYia, Georgia Hanson passed away peacefully at the age of 89 on January 15, 2013. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, siblings and a niece. She is survived by three children, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was born in Detroit, Michigan to Greek immigrants, and moved to Arizona in 1976. She attended Wayne State University and received an Associate's Degree in Business Administration. She was an executive secretary to the mayor of Livonia (Michigan) and secretary to the CEO of Excello Corporation and also served as secretary to the president of the General Motors products division. She also owned a food catering company and a restaurant. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, St. Irene's Charity, A.H.E.P.A., the Professional Secretaries Association and the American Business Association. She and her husband, Stanley were two of the founders of St. Katherine's Greek Orthodox Church in Chandler Arizona. She will be greatly missed although her spirit will live on in the hearts of those whose lives she touched. A family graveside service will be held.
